[Guide] Fixing Font Issues and lag when playing on Google Chrome

When Google Chrome updated itself to version 20, it also included a development-in-progress flash plugin which is supposed to be more efficient. However, it is in reality quite buggy and has been causing font display problems as well as some other problems.

Luckily, Google Chrome has, by default, 3 versions of flash (2 if you didn't install the standalone flash for other browsers such as Firefox)
This guide will show you have to turn off the buggy flash (also known as PEPPER Flash)

How to disable Pepper Flash

Step 1) Type "Chrome://plugins" into your URL bar without the quotes. Press Enter. You will see a page with a list of plugins. We want to fiddle with the section labelled as "Flash"

Step 2) Look to the right of the page. There will be a "+ Details" button. Click on it to expand all the plugins.

Step 3) Look under "Flash", the plugin that is of type "PPAPI (out-of-process)" and click disable. Close the page and you are done!

NOTE: Everytime Google Chrome updates that particular flash will be turned back on. In this case, do the same steps and turn it back off.

How to Fix Lag in Flash (All browsers)

In Flash version 11.3, Adobe added a feature in called protected mode. In short, any flash elements runs in a seperate process from the browser and flash will pass over inputs and display over to the browser. However, this has been causing delays in input passing, thus causing lag in Crystal Saga.

Warning, This tutorial pokes into your system file territory, those not comfortable should get another person's help in doing so.

Steps to fix this problem

Step 1) Determine which version ( 32 bits or 64 bits) your system is running. Type either one of the following folder directories into the browser  bar in any window on your computer. Press Enter.
32Bit : %Systemroot%\system32\macromed\flash\
64Bit: %Systemroot%\sysWOW64\macromed\flash\

Step 2) copy the mms.cfg to you desktop.(You cannot edit the file in a system folder) If you cannot find the file means you are in the wrong directory, pick the other one and try again.

Step 3) Open the mms.cfg that you copied to the desktop using Notepad. (Right Click and press Open, then select notepad)

Step 4) add in this line

ProtectedMode=0

Step 5) Save the file and then copy and replace it back to the folder you copied it from.

Restart your browsers and you will no longer lag in Crystal Saga!
